Sorting through all the negative messages can be exhausting. Even more so when an individual, candidate, or committee is purposely creating a misleading or downright dishonest message to try and sway your views.
We can’t possibly keep up with all the false claims made on the Internet, and there are many wonderful resources available to understand larger national issues. You can find links to many of them on our Resources page.
Here, we’ll address Lowell Area Schools specific messaging that is intentionally designed to mislead or misinform. We hope you find these quick examples helpful in understanding some of the charged claims being made.
Issue:
Support LAS is posting anti-bullying, but allowing bullying on their social media.
Posted on Facebook 3-2-2025
For the Record:
Here is a screenshot of the post she shared from Support LAS. You should notice that there are ZERO comments on that post as we rarely allow comments on the information we share. Every single comment in Boone’s post attributed to Support LAS was taken from a private individual’s account and attached to make it appear as though SupportLAS participates in shenanigans. We.Do.Not.
Beware the sources of your information. Especially when the person feeding you the issue literally created it out of whole cloth.
A few thoughts on that post:
The “Original” Stop Bullying post was not directed at any individual and was shared to the community as a resource. Any individual assuming they were the target of that post is entirely responsible for their reaction and should reflect on why a post about bullying triggered them.
Deliberately expending energy to visit an individual’s personal page, grab screenshots of comments on a post there and then attributing them to a post from an entirely different public page with an entirely different context is a special level of behavior we find difficult to understand.
See what she did: Manufactured a context for the post on the SupportLAS page that did not exist - by attaching comments from another place in order to target us with an accusation of bullying. The irony is astounding.
If you visited our Facebook page because her post upset you and you wanted to see what other horrible things we’ve done - so very sorry to disappoint.
We apologize on her behalf for tricking you into thinking what she posted was real. It was quite disrespectful of her to mislead you in that manner.
Lastly, those comments she grabbed talking smack about someone are decidedly unpolite - but it’s not bullying. We find her claim “void for vagueness” (See Boone v. LAS et al for examples)
